Quarterly Symposium
Four times a year the community gets a half-day instead of an evening: an invited keynote, contributed talks across six tracks, a poster and demo session, and a panel on where this is all going.
The day
What a symposium looks like
The monthly meetup is for keeping in touch. The symposium is where work gets presented properly: longer talks, an external keynote, posters and demos with real time to look at them, and enough of a programme that it is worth inviting colleagues and partners from outside the community.
It is also the community's internal publication venue. Groups present what they have built, students get a real audience and a line for their CV, and the whole university gets a picture of what is happening here.

Coffee, programme, and time to walk the poster boards before the talks start.
- 09:30Opening & state of the community
Ten minutes: what has happened since last quarter, who has joined, what the groups are doing.
- 09:45Invited keynote
An external researcher or practitioner.
- 10:45Contributed talks
Two parallel sessions of 12-minute talks across the six tracks.
- 12:00Poster & demo session
The heart of the day. Everything running, everyone talking, students front and centre.
- 13:00Panel & close
A short panel on a question the community has been arguing about, then awards and closing notes.
